State of the State

Each year the Michigan Radio Network offers live coverage of the Governor’s State of the State message.  The broadcast is hosted by MRN senior correspondent Tim Skubick.  It includes partisan response after the address as well as an analysis roundtable hosted by Mr. Skubick.

Election Coverage

The MRN provides full audio and data coverage of statewide elections every other year.  Michigan DataServe provides election results of all statewide campaigns.  Additionally we bring you two-minute audio updates every half-hour from reporters stationed around the state.   

The first Tuesday after the first Monday of November in even numbered years

Capitol Pressroom

MRN provides at no extra cost or inventory, Michigan’s only statewide weekly public affairs program from the state capital.  "Capitol Pressroom," is hosted by MRN Director of Programming Rob Baykian. Guests have included Governor Jennifer Granholm and Attorney General Mike Cox.  The program is 24 minutes in length and requires no declaration of clearance.  The program is fed Friday’s at 12:35pm and Saturday’s at 5:06am, 7:06am, and 8:06am.

Michigan DataServe

Michigan DataServe is a wire service offered exclusively to MRN affiliate stations.  It focuses on  statewide news and sports as well as national sports.   Through the wire service, stations have easy access to all MRN billboards, cut sheets, and updates on breaking news.

FTP Site News

The primary properties (news summaries and billboards) of Michigan DataServe are also provided via a proprietary FTP Site for any MRN affiliate stations.

MRN Closed Circuit News Calls

Wraps and sound bites are offered each morning and throughout the day, focusing on statewide news, with a special emphasis on the State Capitol.  There are spot news reports each day from Rob Baykian, Tim Skubick, Bill Thompson, Dennis Krolik, Dale George and various contributors from around the state.
